About Waves
Waves is a Godly rarity knife in MM2, sold through its own Game Pass rather than dropped from crates. It pairs with the godly Gun Ocean, together forming the Ocean Set. It was the sixth paired Game Pass set, following Rainbow and Rainbow Gun, Sakura and Blossom, Phantom and Spectre, Plasmablade and Plasmabeam, and Iceflake and Icebeam. It also holds the distinction of being the first summer themed godly weapon added to MM2, and served as the game's icon for a stretch of time before being replaced.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Waves takes the shape of a curved blade made of flowing blue water, with a smoky, wave-like texture running through the body and small droplet shapes scattered near the tip and along its length. The handle is a plain tan wood grip, capped with a light tan, shell-like guard where it meets the blade. Its pairing is the Ocean gun, since the two make up the Ocean Set.
Waves Background
Waves came out during the Summer Event 2023 on July 4, 2023, MM2's very first summer event, which ended on October 10, 2023 and followed right after the Easter Event 2023. Nikilis sold it as a standalone Game Pass purchase, unlike most of that event's other rewards, such as the Popsicle Knife and the Melon Gun, Pool Noodle, Sunset, the Floral Knife, and Beach, which players unlocked by collecting Beach Balls, the event's special currency picked up during rounds.
Buying the full Ocean Bundle also handed players the matching Ocean gun along with the exclusive Flow effect, one of the pricier single purchases tied to that event. Waves later lost its spot as MM2's icon when it was replaced by Darksword and Darkshot. The Game Pass is now off sale, so trading is the only way to get it. Current trade trackers put it around 265 with Medium demand.
