About Icewing
Icewing is an ancient knife that was added on December 23, 2018, through the Icewing Game Pass, a standalone purchase priced at 2,499 Robux during the Christmas Event 2018, which ran until January 14, 2019. Unlike most ancients, it never came from a box or tier ladder, buying the game pass was the only way in.
Trading is now the only way to add it to a collection, since the game pass went off sale once the event wrapped. It stands alongside Batwing, from the Halloween Event 2018 earlier that same year, as one of only two ancients MM2 has ever sold directly through a game pass rather than unboxing or a tier reward.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Icewing takes the shape of a curved ice-blue wing, with a cluster of icicle-like crystal spikes where the blade meets the handle, and a dark blue grip that fades into lighter wrapped detailing near the top. It has no official Set, but its icy color scheme pairs naturally with other frost-themed guns like Icebeam for a matching cold-weapon loadout.
Icewing Background
Icewing's model comes from the Roblox back accessory Frozen Back Scythe, which sold on the avatar shop for 600 Robux. Shortly after release, a wave of buyers duped the Icewing game pass itself in what's remembered as the Icewing Glitch of 2018, which was patched quickly once Nikilis caught it.
The bigger hit came years later with the Duping Glitch (2022), which also caught Batwing, Bioblade, Iceflake, and several others. Nikilis wiped most of the oversized duped stacks on October 16, 2022, and Icewing's value and demand both dropped hard afterward.
Two smaller cosmetic bugs hit the knife too. Pairing it with the Knifeception effect once made both Icewing and the equipped gun turn invisible, and pairing it with Ghostify once made an unintended Holly appear on the blade. Both have since been patched.
Icewing is also one of only a handful of scythe-shaped weapons in MM2, a list that includes Nik's Scythe, Batwing, Elderwood Scythe, Hallowscythe, Reaver, and Gingerscythe.
