How to Awaken Fruits in Blox Fruits: Step-by-Step Guide

Awakening is an upgrade system in Blox Fruits that replaces your fruit's base moves with stronger, reworked versions. Instead of small stat boosts, each awakened move gets new animations, added effects, and noticeably more serious damage compared to its unawakened form.
Not every fruit in the game qualifies for this upgrade, and it takes real effort to get it done. You need to clear a raid specific to your fruit, then spend Fragments to unlock each move individually, with costs that add up fast depending on the fruit you're working with.
In this article, we'll explore which fruits qualify, what you need before you can awaken one, and the exact steps to unlock every move on your fruit.
Which Fruits Can Be Awakened
Right now, only 11 fruits in Blox Fruits have an awakening.
Normal Raids:
Flame
Ice
Sand
Dark
Light
Magma
Quake
Buddha
Spider
Advanced Raids:
Phoenix
Dough
Advanced Raids run longer and are noticeably tougher to clear than Normal Raids. If your fruit isn't on this list, there's no way to awaken it yet. New awakenings get added gradually with updates, so a fruit that doesn't qualify today could get one in a future patch.
Requirements to Unlock Fruit Awakening

Before you can awaken anything, make sure you've got these covered:
Access to the Second Sea, which opens up around level 700
Level 1,100 or higher to buy a Microchip from the Mysterious Scientist NPC
100,000 Beli for a Normal Raid chip, or 1,000 Beli every 2 hours (or a fruit worth over a million with no cooldown) for an Advanced Raid chip (Phoenix and Dough only)
The fruit you're trying to awaken must be equipped before you enter the raid
Enough Fragments to actually unlock the moves once the raid is cleared
For Phoenix and Dough specifically, the raid chip itself has to be unlocked before you can buy it. Phoenix needs 400+ mastery on Phoenix, while Dough needs a separate quest chain (God's Chalice, 10 Conjured Cocoas, then defeating Dough King for the Red Key).
We've already covered how to farm Fragments efficiently in our guide on getting Fragments, so check that out if you're starting from zero.
How to Awaken Your Fruit
Once you meet the requirements above, the actual process is fairly straightforward.
Buy the raid chip for your fruit from the Mysterious Scientist NPC.
Equip the fruit you want to awaken, then walk into the raid area (the blue capsules at Hot and Cold in the Second Sea, or the platforms at Castle on the Sea in the Third Sea).
Clear every island in the raid and beat the raid boss before the timer runs out. Finishing faster gets you more Fragments.
After the raid ends, you'll get teleported to L'Église de Prophétie, where the Mysterious Entity is waiting.
Spend your Fragments on the move you want to awaken. You can awaken one move at a time instead of unlocking all of them at once.
Repeat the raid as many times as needed until you've got enough Fragments to awaken every move you want.
How Much Does It Cost to Fully Awaken a Fruit?
Most fruits follow the same cost structure. The Z move unlocks for 500 Fragments, F costs 2,000, X costs 3,000, C costs 4,000, and V costs 5,000, which adds up to 14,500 Fragments total. This applies to most Normal Raid fruits, including Flame, Ice, Light, Magma, and Buddha. Quake and Spider don't follow this pattern either. Quake only has four moves instead of five, since it has no F move, so it costs 17,000 total. Spider costs even more at 17,300.
Advanced Raid fruits cost more. Phoenix and Dough both run past 17,000 Fragments to fully awaken, since their raids take longer and their awakened moves hit noticeably harder once unlocked.
You don't have to awaken every move at once. A lot of players stop after unlocking the moves they actually use in combat, then come back for the rest once they've built up more Fragments.
Final Words
Awakening turns a solid fruit into a genuinely strong one, but it takes patience. You need the right level, a raid chip, and enough Fragments to see the whole process through, and none of that happens in one sitting.
Start with the fruit you use the most, grind the raid until you've got a healthy Fragment stack, and unlock the moves that actually matter to your playstyle first. The rest can wait until you've got more to spend.
