Every Race in Blox Fruits: Full Guide

Every player in Blox Fruits gets assigned a race the moment they join, and that choice affects stat boosts, defensive tools, and combat abilities for the rest of the playthrough. There are seven races total, four handed out randomly on first spawn and three locked behind their own quest chains deeper in the game. In this article, we'll explain every race in Blox Fruits, how to get each one, and what changes as each race climbs from V1 to V4.
How Many Races Are There?
Blox Fruits currently has seven races split into two groups: races that come from a random roll on your first join and three quest races that have to be earned separately later in the game. Here's where each one:
Race | Type | How To Get It |
|---|---|---|
Human | Starter (62.5% chance) | Random on first join, or through a Race Reroll |
Rabbit | Starter (12.5% chance) | Random on first join, or through a Race Reroll |
Shark | Starter (12.5% chance) | Random on first join, or through a Race Reroll |
Angel | Starter (12.5% chance) | Random on first join, or through a Race Reroll |
Ghoul | Quest race | Bring 100 Ectoplasm and a Hellfire Torch to Experimic |
Cyborg | Quest race | Complete the Cyborg Puzzle, insert a Fist of Darkness at the Secret Laboratory, defeat Order for a Core Brain, then pay the Secret NPC 2,500 Fragments. |
Draco | Quest race | Trade a Dragon Egg to the Dragon Wizard after obtaining the Dojo Belt (Black) |
The four starter races come down to a spin of the wheel when you first join, while the three quest races have to be earned through their own chains later on. Here's how each one actually plays once you have it equipped.
Human
Human spawns on 62.5% of new accounts, the most common starting race by far, and V3 is unlocked through Arowe after killing Diamond, Jeremy, and Fajita.
Version | What You Get |
|---|---|
V1 | No buffs |
V2 | Faster movement, doubled Flash Step range with its cooldown cut to 10 seconds, an extra Instinct dodge with faster regen, a longer dash, and slightly faster M1s |
V3 | Last Resort, a 6-second damage burst scaling roughly 2.5% to 52.25% based on how low your health is, 30-second cooldown. |
V4 (Berserker) | A Limit Break rage meter that scales damage further the longer a fight goes, plus a triple-dash Psycho gear option |
Titles run The Unleashed at V2, Full Power at V3, and Berserker at V4, and the kit has no defense at any stage.
Rabbit
Rabbit, still called Mink by longtime players from before the rename, spawns 12.5% of the time, and V4 requires the Temple of Time puzzle plus the Trial of Speed.
Version | What You Get |
|---|---|
V1 | Flat 1.5x movement speed |
V2 | 2x movement speed, longer dash, dash energy cost cut from 30 to 15 |
V3 | Agility, a 6.5-second burst pushing speed to 4x normal, 30-second cooldown |
V4 | Choice of Whirlwind (tornadoes on dash that trap enemies) or Lightning Cloak (longer dashes, eventually a held Super Dash) |
Every version is pure speed, nothing else, which is why Rabbit fell from the best PvP race pre-Awakenings to one of the weaker picks once every other race got a V4 identity.
Shark
Shark, formerly named Fish, is another 12.5% spawn, and V3 unlocks after defeating a naturally spawned Sea Beast.
Version | What You Get |
|---|---|
V1 | Reduced water damage, faster swimming |
V2 | No water damage at all, faster swimming |
V3 (Water Body) | Cuts incoming damage by about 70% for 4.5 seconds, 30-second cooldown |
V4 | Choice of Leviathan's Armor (regenerating overflow shield blocking up to 85% of hits) or Whirlpool (slows and weakens attackers) |
Titles run Sea Monster at V2, Warrior of the Sea at V3, and Leviathan at V4, and it's the most defensive starter race at the cost of mobility and damage.
Angel
Angel, formerly named Sky, rounds out the 12.5% starter pool, and V3 unlocks by killing another Angel-race player.
Version | What You Get |
|---|---|
V1 | Small jump height increase |
V2 | Higher first air jump, 20% less Air Jump energy cost, an extra air jump |
V3 (Heavenly Blood) | Heals about 13.5% of max health over 4.5 seconds plus a defense boost, 30-second cooldown |
V4 | Choice of Prince of the Skies (full flight, attack mid-air) or King's Rule (aura that slows, drains energy, can stun) |
Angel is mostly harmless until V4 is active, at which point it turns into one of the harder starter races to fight.
Ghoul
Ghoul can't be rolled or rerolled; it has to be bought from Experimic in the kitchen of the Cursed Ship for 100 Ectoplasm and a Hellfire Torch.
Version | What You Get |
|---|---|
V1 | Faster health regeneration and movement speed at night |
V2 to V3 | Progressively stronger night regen and speed, plus shorter ability cooldowns |
V4 | A field that blocks enemy healing and partially blinds anyone inside it, and cuts your own cooldowns by roughly 40%; the upgraded version adds crows that strike on dash and extends the field |
It pairs especially well with the Buddha fruit and Sanguine Art for extra life leech, and switching back to it once unlocked has always been free.
Cyborg
Cyborg is the most involved unlock in the game, requiring a Fist of Darkness inserted at the Secret Laboratory for a repeatable 5% chance at a Core Brain from defeating Order.
Version | What You Get |
|---|---|
V1 | No buffs |
V2 | 10% damage reduction against melee, sword, and gun attacks, plus 15% of damage taken converted into energy |
V3 (Energy Core) | 30% defense boost and AoE lightning tick damage scaling with level, roughly 4,000 to 6,000 total in the 1,500 to 2,800 level range, 6.5 seconds, 30-second cooldown, breaks Instinct up close |
V4 (Genesis) | Choice of Energy Control (chains damage between enemies, enables a damage-dealing Super Jump) or Aftershock (drains enemy Instinct dodges on hit) |
Every switch back afterward costs 2,500 Fragments, the only race with a recurring cost like that, and there's no mobility buff anywhere in the kit.
Draco
Draco is tied to the Third Sea from the start, and its chain is the deepest in the game: a Dragon Egg trade after earning the Dojo Belt (Black), then five RNG-dropped Fire Flowers for V2.
Version | What You Get |
|---|---|
V1 | Health boost, damage reduction, bonus melee damage |
V2 | Flight ability, plus a burn effect added to Flash Step |
V3 (Primordial Reign) | A 10-second aura, the longest of any V3, that buffs you and nearby allies while slowing and briefly stunning enemies inside it; 30-second cooldown |
V4 | Choice of Cometic Field (explosive orbs that detonate for AoE damage) or Thorn Mail (reflects a portion of incoming damage back at attackers) |
Between the Dragon Egg, the Fire Flowers, the Terrorshark fight for V3, and its own separate Awakening Puzzle for V4, Draco is generally considered the hardest race in the game to fully unlock.
How Race Versions Work
For Human, Rabbit, Shark, Angel, Ghoul, and Cyborg, V2 is unlocked at the Alchemist in the Green Zone through the Flower Quest, which requires being Level 850 or higher, having finished the Colosseum Quest, and paying 500,000 Beli.
V3 comes from Arowe, found through a hidden entrance near where Diamond resides, having V2 already active, Don Swan defeated, 2,000,000 Beli, and a race-specific task: killing Diamond, Jeremy, and Fajita as Human; collecting 30 chests as Rabbit; defeating a natural Sea Beast as Shark; killing another Angel-race player as Angel; killing 5 players as Ghoul; or handing over any physical fruit as Cyborg.
V4 for those same six races comes from the Temple of Time, which requires the Rip Indra raid boss and the Dough King both defeated with V3 already active, followed by a race-specific trial: Rabbit's Trial of Speed, Shark's Trial of Water, Angel's Trial of the King, and Cyborg's Trial of the Machine, among them.
Draco skips this entire structure and runs its own separate progression instead: a Dragon Egg trade for V1, five Fire Flowers plus 1,000,000 Beli for V2, the Terrorshark fight plus 3,000,000 Beli for V3, and its own Draco Awakening Puzzle for V4.
Changing Your Race
Race Rerolls only work for the four starter races: Human, Rabbit, Shark, and Angel. Players can give 3,000 Fragments to Tort outside the First Sea or buy a Race Reroll for 90 Robux in the Products Shop.
Ghoul, Cyborg, and Draco can't be obtained this way. Rerolling doesn't erase progress on a quest race already unlocked either. Ghoul and Draco stay free to switch back into afterward, while Cyborg costs another 2,500 Fragments each time.
Final Words
Race is one of the few choices in Blox Fruits that sticks with a build from the First Sea all the way to endgame, and it's worth picking with intent rather than just keeping whatever the spawn roll hands out. If PvP and sustained fights are the priority, Ghoul is hard to beat once it's unlocked.
If grinding and raids matter more, Cyborg's energy kit and Draco's debuffs both pull real weight, even with steep unlock costs behind them. For anyone still leveling through the first two Seas, any of the four starter races works fine short-term, since the real gap between them only opens up once V3 and V4 are in play.
