About Gemstone
Gemstone comes from Mystery Box 1, a crate that has sat in the Murder Mystery 2 shop since May 25, 2019, priced at 1,000 Coins, 100 Diamonds, or 1 Mystery Key. Pulling it carries a 0.2% chance, with its chroma counterpart, Chroma Gemstone, sitting at the usual 0.004% in the same pool. Gemstone holds a distinction beyond the box odds too, it was the very first Godly added to the game when Season 1 launched, ahead of every other weapon that update introduced.
Mystery Box 1 has never left the shop, so pulling it from the box is still possible alongside trading for one directly. No gun carries an official Set link to Gemstone, though it shares the wider Small 107 Set designation with other lower valued godlies tracked across MM2's history.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Gemstone takes the shape of a broad, faceted blade cut like a raw purple crystal, shifting from a pale lavender at the tip into deeper purple near the hilt. A curved gold crossguard flares out on either side, set with a small pink gem at the center, and the handle is gold with a black and white segmented wrap. A red gem sits near the base of the handle, and two curled gold horns extend downward from the pommel. No gun in MM2's lineup carries a close enough crystal and gold look to suggest a genuine pairing, so Gemstone stands on its own here.
Gemstone Background
Mystery Box 1 carries its own firsts beyond Gemstone's own. It was the first box released alongside the Season 1 update, and the first weapon box in Murder Mystery 2 to keep knives and guns together in one permanent pool rather than splitting them into separate crates, a format Mystery Box 2 repeated not long after with Darkbringer and Lightbringer as its own pair of Godly pulls.
No major duping incident has ever been tied to Gemstone by name, unlike several other Season 1 era weapons, and it's held a fairly steady spot near the bottom of the Small 107 Set's value range for most of its history, which is part of why current trade trackers put it around 15 with Low demand.
