About Chill
Chill was a godly knife that players could craft during Christmas Event 2015, which ran from December 19, 2015, to January 8, 2016. The recipe needed 1 Heat and 100 Gifts, and it was removed from the crafting station when the event ended. Trading is now the only way to add Chill to a collection, since the recipe left the game with the event. It is part of the Small (107) Set.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Chill takes the shape of a jagged, angular blade that shifts from deep blue at the tip into teal and green near the base. A dark, claw like grip wraps around the base of the blade where it meets the handle, with small spiked ridges jutting out. The handle itself is a thin teal shaft that tapers to a sharp blue point at the very end. Chill pairs well with Ocean and Borealis, two godly guns whose blue and cyan tones echo the blue and teal on the blade.
Chill Background
Chill was built on top of Heat, which has an older story than the event itself. Heat started in the MLG Box, which later became the Chroma Box and then the Rainbow Box on August 6, 2016, and Heat is the only item left from that original MLG Box. It can still be unboxed from the Rainbow Box at a 0.2% chance, while its chroma sits at 0.004%. Heat also went into a second recipe, since it was one of the three knives salvaged for the materials to craft Flames, alongside Seer and Tides, until Season 1 came out on May 25, 2019.
Gifts opened several routes to a godly during the event. Xmas could be bought directly for 75 Gifts each box cost 30 Gifts after the official release, with a secret godly hidden inside, and Chill and Handsaw were the two recipes that asked for 100 Gifts, with Handsaw starting from a Saw. Current trade trackers put Chill around 10 with Low demand.
