About Traveler's Axe
Traveler's Axe is an ancient knife that was originally obtainable by purchasing the 30th tier of the Battle Pass during the 2023 Halloween Event. Now that the event has ended, the only way to get it is through trading.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Traveler's Axe takes the shape of a double-bladed axe with a jagged, gray stone body and a burning orange glow along the edges of both blades. A carved jack-o'-lantern sits at the center where the blades meet, with a lit, grinning face carved into its orange shell. Dark green vines wrap around the pumpkin and spread down along the wooden handle, with small spiked leaves poking out at points along the vines. The handle itself is a twisted brown branch, curving down to a jagged tip wrapped in more vine and a small glowing orange edge at the bottom. Traveler's Axe pairs with the godly gun Traveler's Gun to form the Traveler Set.
Traveler's Axe Background
Traveler's Axe is the 11th ancient weapon added to the game, and the fourth to take the shape of an axe, following Logchopper, Icebreaker, and Swirly Axe. It was designed by IDontHaveAUse. The knife also has a legendary counterpart named Traveler, along with red, bronze, silver, and gold versions made for the 2023 Halloween leaderboard.
Despite forming a matched set, Traveler's Axe and Traveler's Gun actually came from two different sources during the event. Traveler's Axe was earned through the battle pass's final tier, while Traveler's Gun was pulled separately from the 2023 Halloween Box. Current trade trackers put it around 7,000 with High demand.
Many players wonder why Traveler's Axe is so much more expensive than an item like Vampire's Axe, and the real reason goes beyond simply being a year older.
Usually, during MM2 events, regular coins are replaced with the event's special currency, such as Candies during Halloween. This currency is used to open event boxes and unlock tiers. However, during this event, both regular coins and Candies could spawn, meaning there were roughly half as many Candies available compared to a typical event. There were also several Candy-spawning bugs that made things even more difficult.
As a result, obtaining the event's items was much harder than usual, and many players chose not to grind the event at all. Because of this limited supply, Traveler's Axe and Traveler's Gun are now considered some of the rarest weapons in MM2.
