About Lightbringer
Lightbringer sits at 0.2% Godly odds in Mystery Box 2, the same crate that holds Darkbringer at that same 0.2%, plus a 0.004% chroma version of each. It was released March 5, 2020, as part of the March 2020 Update.
Mystery Box 2 has never gone off sale, so Lightbringer is still obtainable straight from the box today, though most players end up trading for it given the odds. It's officially paired with Darkbringer as the Bringer Set.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Lightbringer takes the shape of a sleek revolver, its body done up in white and silver with a thin gold stripe running along the top of the barrel. A fan of gold, feather like wings sweeps back from the frame, centered around a dark round gem in the middle of the body, and the grip carries a gold, dotted texture that blends into the white frame around it.
Lightbringer's official Set partner is Darkbringer, its black and red mirror pulled from the same Mystery Box 2 slot. For a knife pairing beyond the Set, Cupid works well. It's the knife most commonly paired with Lightbringer even without an official set, and the match holds up visually too. Cupid's off-white wings and gold guard and stripes echo Lightbringer's own white body and gold trim.
Lightbringer Background
Lightbringer and Darkbringer were both modeled and textured by IDontHaveAUse, the same designer behind most of the other Season 1 weapons, and both share the same underlying build under their different white and black paint jobs. Mystery Box 2 itself, the crate holding both, was the new box added in the March 2020 Update alongside the interactive Research Facility map and the Bioblade Game pass, and it was the very first crate in MM2 to hold two chroma godlies at once when Chroma Lightbringer and Chroma Darkbringer launched inside it alongside their base versions.
Neither Lightbringer nor Darkbringer can be broken down at the crafting station, unusual for weapons of their rarity, and both keep a Unique counterpart floating around too. Lightbringer's is Dartbringer, a separate item earned through a code rather than the box. Current trade trackers put it around 38 with Low demand.
