About Flames
Flames is a godly knife that was originally obtainable by crafting it at the crafting station, which you can learn more about in our guide on how to craft in MM2. Players had to salvage a Seer, a Tides, and a Heat to get the materials, and the recipe cost two Godly Shards, one Godly Metal, one Water Orb from Tides, and one Fire Orb from Heat.
Flames started as the first Ancient knife in the game before it was reduced to Godly, and its crafting recipe was removed when Season 1 launched on May 25, 2019. Trading is now the only way to get it.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Flames has a sword-like shape, with an orange-yellow blade that rises into jagged flame shapes along the edge. A square orange-red gem sits at the guard with a small flame on each side, and the handle is a burnt sienna brown with a small gem at the bottom.
Molten Gun is a good gun to pair with it. Its orange-yellow molten lava texture and dark red handle match the fiery blade, and it was a craftable weapon too, made from 12 Uncommon Shards.
Flames Background
Flames was built from a model published by Nikilis that derives from the limited Roblox gear Mystic Sword of the Flames. It was the first Ancient knife in MM2, and unlike most Ancients that came after it, nobody could earn it from an event tier, a box, or a Game Pass.
Flames was one of the items targeted by the Duping Glitch of 2017, which spread through players transferring items between alt accounts and only stopped when Nikilis temporarily shut down trading. When Season 1 launched on May 25, 2019, Flames was removed from the crafting station over those duplication concerns and dropped from Ancient to Godly, so it also stopped showing as an Ancient in player inventories.
