About Elderwood Scythe
Elderwood Scythe is an Ancient knife that was originally sold for 80,000 Candies at Tier 40 of the Main Event during the 2019 Halloween Event. With the event long over, it's now only obtainable by trading with other players.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Elderwood Scythe is shaped like a gnarled, ancient tree, with a bent, frayed black handle resembling a twisted trunk. The blade itself is purple and black with streaks running through it, evoking a large purple leaf.
Since only one knife can be equipped at a time, it's officially paired with the Godly gun Elderwood Revolver, and the two make up the Elderwood Set, alongside the separate Elderwood Blade knife that completes the Full Elderwood Set.
Elderwood Scythe Background
Elderwood Scythe was designed by IDontHaveAUse as a high-tier reward in the 2019 Halloween Event, requiring players to save up 80,000 Candies to reach Tier 40 of the Main Event. Upon release, the Elderwood Scythe actually had a different image to compared to the one you see now.
The Elderwood Scythe was the first-ever ancient obtainable by purchasing the last tier from an event; since then, this has become a common theme, with many more ancients being added such as: Logchopper, Hallowscythe, Icebreaker, Harvester, Icepiercer, Traveler's Axe and Gingerscope.
Rather than a standard knife shape, it takes the form of a scythe, putting it in a small group of similarly styled weapons in MM2 alongside items like Batwing, Nik's Scythe, Hallowscythe and Icewing.
It was one of the main targets of the Duping Glitch of 2021, which added a large number of illegitimate copies into circulation and dragged its value down significantly from where it once stood.
