About Darkknife
Darkknife is a rare knife that was originally obtainable at Tier 25 of the Halloween Event 2023 Battle Pass, where every tier after the free first one cost 300 Candies to unlock, putting the total cost at 7,200 Candies by the time Tier 25 came around, during an event that ran from October 17 to November 21, 2023. The event closed out once November 21 hit, so trading is the only way to add it to your collection now.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Darkknife uses the default knife mesh but is recolored entirely black, with black swirls running along the right side of the blade and black bars covering the handle, plus a matching black guard. Its official Set partner is Darkgun, the rare gun released during the same event.
Darkknife Background
Darkknife and Darkgun share a name and a Set, but not an obtain method. Darkknife came from working through the Battle Pass tier by tier, while Darkgun was a separate 10% rare pull from that same event's Halloween Box, a split between two pieces of one Set that both landed during Halloween Event 2023 but through entirely different routes. Darkgun itself was designed by IDontHaveAUse, credited directly on its own page.
That event also ran a short-lived currency experiment, letting Candies spawn alongside the usual Coins instead of replacing them. It drew enough backlash from the community, on top of some of the lowest player counts the game had seen, that MM2 never brought the format back in a later Halloween event.
