About Chroma Cookiecane
Chroma Cookiecane is a chroma knife that was originally unboxed from the 2022 Christmas Box, added when the Christmas Event 2022 began on December 21, 2022. The box cost 700 Snow Tokens or 1 Snow Key to open, and Chroma Cookiecane sat at the standard 0.004% chroma drop rate, alongside its base counterpart Cookiecane at the standard 0.2% godly rate in the same pool.
Trading is now the only way to add Chroma Cookiecane to an inventory, since Christmas Event 2022 ended on January 22, 2023. Like every other chroma weapon, it can't be broken down at the crafting station.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Chroma Cookiecane takes the shape of a marauder cutlass with a Christmas twist. The blade is a brown cookie edged in color-alternating sprinkles and white frosting, the spine is a color-alternating candy cane, and the golden guard holds a wavy color-alternating candy cane handle topped with a color-alternating peppermint pommel.
Its base counterpart, Cookiecane, pairs with Gingermint, the godly gun that completes the Cookie Set, and that pairing carries over well here too since Gingermint shares the same red-and-white candy tones.
Chroma Cookiecane Background
Chroma Cookiecane was the sixth holiday chroma and third Christmas chroma released in the game, following Chroma Boneblade and Chroma Gingerblade from 2018, then Chroma Candleflame and Chroma Swirly Gun from 2021, and Chroma Elderwood Blade from Halloween 2022.
For over two weeks after release, a bug showed Chroma Cookiecane in player inventories as "Chroma Gingermint" with no image at all, a name that doesn't actually belong to any real item. It was fixed on January 7, 2023. Chroma Cookiecane was also quietly duped and overcirculated at one point, which dragged its value down from where a chroma this rare would normally sit.
Cookiecane's own name is easy to mix up with Cookieblade, an unrelated godly knife from Christmas Event 2020, though the two don't share a Set or a look beyond the cookie theme.
