About Batwing
Batwing is an Ancient knife that was originally sold through the Batwing Gamepass for 2,499 Robux during the 2018 Halloween Event. Now that the gamepass has gone offsale, the only way to get it is through trading with other players.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Batwing has a long, thin black handle with a small curved grip and finger nubs near the bottom. At the top, the handle connects to a ring clamp shaped like a bat's head with a red crystal set into it, and the scythe's blades are formed from a pair of red-and-black bat wings.
Batwing is commonly paired with Darkbringer due to their similar colours and designs. Although they are not an official set, players often refer to them as the Batwing Set. Another popular gun to pair with Batwing is the Laser Godly Gun.
Batwing Background
Batwing holds a genuine first in MM2 history: not just the first Ancient item ever sold in the shop, but the first Ancient to actually stay classified as one, Flames briefly held that title before later being reclassified as Godly. It was originally a Nikilis-exclusive design, and its model traces back to the Roblox avatar shop gear Bat Scythe. That same model with a different colour scheme was later reused to create Nik's Scythe, which can only be received as a personal gift from Nikilis rather than obtained through any normal method.
Its release didn't go smoothly. Batwing was mass duped almost immediately, in what became known as the Batwing Glitch of 2018, and Nikilis responded by reskinning every duped copy into the common knife Glitch1 to wipe out the illegitimate stock. It was hit again during the wider Duping Glitch of 2021, and again in 2022.
Despite that rocky history, Batwing has held its position as one of MM2's most recognisable weapons in the game! It's one of only a handful of scythe-style weapons in MM2, a short list that also includes Nik's Scythe, Icewing, Elderwood Scythe, Hallowscythe, Reaver, and Gingerscythe.
