About Swirl
Swirl is a rare knife added during the Christmas Event 2021, earned by clearing the fifteenth tier of that event's Main Event. Tiers two through twenty each cost 800 Snow Tokens, so reaching Swirl meant paying through fourteen tiers first, 11,200 Snow Tokens in total, five tiers short of the event's final reward, the ancient knife Swirly Axe, which took all twenty tiers and another 80,000 Snow Tokens on top. The Main Event ran from December 21, 2021 to January 28, 2022. Trading is the only way to add Swirl now that the event has ended.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Swirl has a bronze-gold blade with two small screws near the center and a red streak dividing it from a silver edge, a matching bronze-gold guard, and a red-and-silver handle styled after a candy cane. Since it has no built-in Set partner, pair it with a gun that fits the same candy cane look. Sugar, with its red-and-white candy cane barrels and gold star accents, carries the closest match in color and theme, even without any official connection between the two.
Swirl Background
Swirl shares its event and its release date with the Swirly Set, Swirly Axe, Swirly Blade, Swirly Gun, and Chroma Swirly Gun, all added during the same Christmas Event 2021. The names are close enough to cause mix-ups in trades, but Swirl stands apart as a single-tier reward with no chroma variant, no Set, and no connection to the Swirly items beyond being released during the same event.
Tier fifteen sat in the middle of a short run of look-alike Main Event rewards. Tier sixteen handed out a cosmetic effect called Starry, immediately followed by the gun Starry itself at tier seventeen, a naming pattern the event repeated with an Aurora effect and the Aurora gun two tiers later. Swirl came right before that stretch began, making it the last tier reward in the event with a name that didn't double up with something else nearby.
