About Gingerscope
Gingerscope is an ancient gun that was originally obtainable by reaching the 20th and final tier of the Battle Pass during the 2023 Christmas Event. Now that the event has ended, trading with other players is the only way to get one.
It's one of the most sought-after weapons in the game, and not just for its rarity. It was the first gun in MM2 to get a custom holding and idle animation, the first weapon to carry the game's FX tag, and it fires with a unique sound and a distinct red and white shooting trail.
Appearance and Best Pairings
The gun is shaped like a tactical sniper rifle built entirely out of gingerbread, with a scope mounted on top and a small peppermint candy set into the middle of it. Faint white icing lines the body, the left side, and the wedge near the front. The handle breaks from the gingerbread look entirely, done in red and white striped peppermint instead.
Its original pairing is Gingerscythe, the Evo knife it was designed alongside. Since Gingerscythe can't be traded, most players now pair Gingerscope with Gingerheart instead, an uncommon knife introduced through the 2024 Christmas Tier Rewards.
Gingerscope Background
Gingerscope was designed by IDontHaveAUse and released as the top reward of the 2023 Christmas Battle Pass, one of only a handful of ancient weapons the game has handed out this way, alongside items like Icebreaker, Harvester, Icepiercer, and Traveler's Axe. Players who placed on the 2023 Christmas Leaderboard also received gold, silver, bronze, and blue trophy versions of the gun, separate from the tradable version most players own.
Its value has slipped some over the past year, currently trading around 15,000 with High demand. Some in the MM2 community have pointed to a possible duping glitch behind that drop, alongside similar dips in a handful of other high-tier items around the same time, but nothing has been confirmed, and others put it down to Gingerscope simply becoming more common than it used to be. Worth treating as an open question rather than settled fact.
