About Chroma Tides
Chroma Tides is a Chroma Godly knife that entered Knife Box 5's loot pool on May 25, 2019, when the Season 1 update added Chroma Weapons to every classic box, including one that had already been in the shop since February 18, 2016. Its unboxing odds sit at a fixed 0.004%, under the box's own 0.2% chance at a plain Godly, and it shares that pool with the Tides it's recolored from. Knife Box 5 itself originally cost just 200 Coins before Season 1 raised the price, and it now runs 1,000 Coins, 100 Diamonds, or 1 Mystery Key.
Unlike Tides, which returns 55 godly shards when salvaged at the crafting station, Chroma Tides can't be broken down there, a restriction shared by every chroma weapon in the game. Both unboxing Knife Box 5 and trading remain live ways to add it today, since the box never went off sale.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Chroma Tides takes the shape of a broad, curved blade with a smooth silver white body, two thin rainbow colored fins curling up from the spine near the tip. A round purple gem sits at the base of the blade where it meets the guard, and the crossguard curls outward in a deep blue, wave like shape. The handle is wrapped in a pink and white striped pattern, capped by a small blue gem at the pommel.
Its best pairing for a loadout is Ocean, the Summer Event 2023 gun finished in blue, pastel blue, and white with a shell and linen textured frame, matching Tides' sea and crystal theme even though the two never shared an event or an official Set.
Chroma Tides Background
Before the Season 1 update removed the recipe, Tides could be salvaged alongside Heat and Seer to craft Flames, a combination that stopped working once Season 1 reworked crafting on May 25, 2019. Tides itself stands out among Knife Box 5's lineup for another reason too; every other knife in that box was designed by didi1147, while Tides was modeled by Nikilis directly, drawing from the limited Roblox gear Mythic Sword of the Tides.
Chroma Tides falls right into the stretch of chromas that took the biggest hit when the 2019 Duping Glitch spread through the game, a group covering everything that came out of the classic boxes in 2018 and 2019, and it still sits below what chromas from more recent years go for as a result, and current trade trackers put it around 28 with Low demand.
