About Chroma Evergreen
Chroma Evergreen is a chroma knife that was originally obtainable by unboxing the 2023 Christmas Box during that year's Christmas Event. It's the chroma counterpart of the godly knife Evergreen, pulled from the same crate but at a much lower 0.004% chance. Before the event even launched, both Chroma Evergreen and its matching gun were simply referred to as "Chroma Tree." Now that the event has ended, trading is the only way to pick one up.
Appearance and Best Pairings
The knife carries the same design as the regular Evergreen, shaped like a small Christmas tree with a four-pointed star on top and tinsel spiraling out from it. The handle is brown, styled after the log at the base of a tree. The difference from the base version comes down to color. Instead of static yellow lights, Chroma Evergreen cycles through alternating colors across both the tinsel and the lights.
Its natural pairing is Chroma Evergun, the godly gun it was released alongside. Together they form the Chroma Evergreen Set, and carrying both keeps the full color-cycling effect consistent across a loadout instead of mixing it with the plain yellow of the base Evergreen Set.
Chroma Evergreen Background
Chroma Evergreen came out of the 2023 Christmas Box alongside its non-chroma counterpart, Evergreen, with the knife itself unboxed at 0.2% and the chroma version sitting at just 0.004%.
On February 1st, 2024, players discovered a new way to duplicate items quickly, and Evergreen and Chroma Evergreen became two of the main targets, along with other Christmas Event weapons like Frostfade Gun. Nikilis patched the exploit once it surfaced, but the flood of duped copies had already tanked both items' value, an incident the community now refers to as the Evergreen Glitch.
Chroma Evergreen has recovered part of what it lost since then but still sits below its pre-glitch value. Current trade trackers put it around 38,000 with High demand. It also picked up the game's FX tag during the 2025 Summer Event, alongside Evergreen, Evergun, and Chroma Evergun.
