About Box of Fertilizer
Box of Fertilizer is a misc item from the Christmas Event 2018, which ran from December 23, 2018 to January 14, 2019. It was sold in Santa's Tree Shop for 50 Diamonds, or 200 Diamonds for a pack of five, and it was used to grow Christmas trees faster. After a player traded ornaments for Snowflake Tokens, the tree needed 10 minutes before more ornaments could be added, and Fertilizer skipped that wait straight away. The event has ended, so trading is the only way to get it now, and it no longer has any use in the game.
Appearance and Best Pairings
Box of Fertilizer is a brown wooden box with a sticker on top that looks like a bag of tree fertilizer. In a player's inventory it shows up as a bright teal color, which marks it as a classic Christmas item. As a misc item, it has no weapon pairings.
Box of Fertilizer Background
The 2018 event was built around salvaging. Any common to legendary weapon gave an ornament of the same rarity when salvaged, and players hung those ornaments on trees to raise the Snowflake Tokens each tree paid out. Fertilizer was the only way to speed that cycle up, and it was bought with Diamonds, while the other shop items like the Snowflake Key cost Snowflake Tokens. That made it one of the few items players bought for the grind itself and not for a weapon or a cosmetic. It sits in the same misc group as the wrapping papers from earlier Christmas events, including the Box of Gold Wrapping Paper and the Box of Blue Wrapping Paper.
